Ricardo Vasquez is the Director of Multimedia – Customer Relations, Services, and Communications at Texas Southmost College (TSC) in Brownsville, Texas.
In this role, he works with TSC Student Services to develop internal and external digital marketing assets and disseminate digital media via social media platforms, websites, and print publications.
His career spans over twenty years, serving in several roles in K-12, higher education, and journalism.
He was the Director of Public and Media Relations for Sul Ross State University Rio Grande College in Eagle Pass, Texas, between 2002 – 2007; Multimedia Web Editor for Stars and Stripes in Washington DC, between 2007 – 2016; Communications and Community Outreach Coordinator for Woodburn School District in Woodburn, Oregon between 2018 – 2021.
He is an Oregon Duck, a Gonzaga Bulldog, and is in the process of becoming a Kansas Wildcat. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Oregon, a Master of Arts in Communication and Leadership Studies with a concentration in Digital Media Strategies from Gonzaga University and is a doctorate program student at Kansas State University John E. Roueche Center for Community College Leadership.
As a lifelong learner, he also obtained a Career Studies Certificate as an Information Technology Networking Specialist from Northern Virginia Community College in Alexandria, Va., and has been trained in videography, photography, print, and web development.
