Rosa is the proud daughter of Hector and Rosa Berreles, both immigrants from Mexico. She grew up as an English as a Second Language (ESL), first-generation and economically disadvantaged youth in a rural community of 1300 people. Her experiences have led to her passion for working with first-generation students and students in rural communities, as she knows their struggles. Rosa has 20+ years of experience in education in independent school districts, community colleges, and universities. She is the Executive Director, Dual Credit & High School Partnerships at Temple College and oversees the dual credit programs at 23 school districts, half of which are rural. Her personal experiences help her understand the students she advises and allows her to create programs to help them succeed. Rosa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Merchandising from Texas State University and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Union Institute & University. She is a doctoral candidate in the Community College Leadership Program at Kansas State University, and she can’t wait to be called Doctora.
